The Mobility Mission – Wheelchair Restoration Workshop

SROI Project Template 2-
The Mobility Mission – Wheelchair Restoration Workshop
「伴我同行」基層輪椅重生及社區關懷項目
Event Format: Off-site / Active Circular Economy Experience
The Experience: Trade your business attire for aprons and work gloves. Instead of a standard corporate off-site or a generic team-building exercise, your employees are transported to a bustling, active social enterprise warehouse. Their mission for the day: rescuing, repairing, and restoring discarded wheelchairs for low-income elderly and disabled individuals in Hong Kong.
Guided by veteran mechanics—many of whom are differently-abled or marginalized youth trained by the Social Enterprise—your corporate teams are broken into "pit crews." They learn to strip down rusted frames, replace worn-out ball bearings, fit new tires, and deep-clean the equipment. The atmosphere is energetic, collaborative, and entirely hands-on.
At the end of the session, the team lines up the gleaming, fully refurbished wheelchairs. They receive profiles of the actual families and elderly care homes on the waitlist who will be receiving the very chairs they just built. It is a powerful, physical realization of the good they have accomplished with their own hands.
The Value & Impact: This event provides an unmatched sense of tangible achievement. Employees leave with the profound satisfaction of knowing their physical labor has directly restored mobility and dignity to someone in need. It breaks down silos as executives and junior staff work shoulder-to-shoulder scrubbing wheels and tightening bolts, all while creating vital employment for the marginalized mechanics who lead the workshop.
Why Corporate Leadership Loves This Format:
- For the CFO (Visualizing SROI into Hard ROI): We specialize in translating complex Social Return on Investment (SROI) into simple financial ROI you can actually picture. Imagine this: instead of a "sunk cost" for a corporate away-day, every hour your staff works directly converts into a $4,000 piece of medical equipment returned to the economy. We capture that reclaimed asset value, the savings from landfill diversion, and the economic boost of marginalized wages, transforming warm feelings into hard, reportable corporate value.
- For the CSR Team (The "E" & "S" Pillar Double-Win): This initiative is a reporting powerhouse. It hits your Social KPIs (B8: Community Investment and supporting marginalized labor) while simultaneously scoring heavy points for the Environmental KPIs (A1 & A2: Waste Reduction and Circular Economy) by actively diverting bulky medical waste from Hong Kong’s landfills.
- For Corporate Communications (Seamless Brand Integration): We architect this project to blend flawlessly into your company's unique brand image. We don't just run a generic charity event; we white-label the impact. Whether it involves placing a "Restored by [Your List-co Name]" plaque on the back of every wheelchair, or tailoring the event's narrative to match your Chairman's specific vision for community care, we ensure the public and the press see your corporate identity as the true driver of the initiative.
This perfectly sets the standard for how UCSL positions the financial and branding value of these events.
